چکیده

This review paper explores the potential of combining emulsion-based inks with additive manufacturing (AM) to produce filters for respiratory protective equipment (RPE) in fight against viral and bacterial infections tract. The value these has been highlighted by current severe acute syndrome coronavirus-2 crisis where importance health care workers cannot be overstated. Three-dimensional (3D) printing emulsions is an emerging technology built on a well-established field emulsion templating porous materials such as polymerized high internal phase (polyHIPEs). PolyHIPE-based polymers have tailorable porosity from submicron 100 s μm. Advances 3D enables control bulk shape while micron controlled independently ink. Herein, we present overview polyHIPE-based filter applications. Then, discuss use combined stereolithography extrusion-based AM technologies. benefits limitation various techniques are discussed, well considerations scalable manufacture RPE.

Fungal Infections of Respiratory Tract-Final Section

Histoplasma capsulatum var. capsulatum, Blastomyces dermatitidis, Coccidioides immitis, Paracoccidioides brasiliensis, and Penicillium marneffei are endemic dimorphic fungi that may infect the respiratory tract. Sporothrix schenkeii, which manifests the typical thermal dimorphism of the endemic dimorphic organisms, does not seem to follow a geographically defined endemic pattern of distribution...

Fungal infections of the Respiratory Tract-Section 1

Fungal infections of the Respiratory Tract are important causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised hospitalized patients. Among these patients are those receiving cytotoxic chemotherapy for neoplastic diseases, those undergoing bone marrow stem cell transplantation or organ transplantation, and those affected with the acquired immune deficiency syndrome. Invasive Aspergillosis has ...

Viral Respiratory Tract Infections in Cystic Fibrosis

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) is the most commonly inherited potentially lethal disease amongst Caucasian children and young adults. In Europe, approximately 35,000 children and adults are affected by CF. The prevalence in the US and in Canada is approximately 30,000 and 3,000, respectively. CF is an autosomal recessive disorder and is caused by mutations in the Cystic Fibrosis Transmembrane Conductance...
